Refugees Rock is a UK-based charity that provides free monthly climbing sessions for people seeking sanctuary — including refugees and asylum seekers. Founded by Action Asylum, The Climbing Hangar and The British Red Cross Refugees Rock collaborate with climbing walls, local charities, and volunteer “Boulder Buddies” to host inclusive sessions across the UK.
Whilst creating the brand it was requested for it to hold some similarities to its title founder The Climbing Hangar, this being the hand-drawn type. It gives the logo a friendly, human, and approachable character — aligning with the charity’s welcoming ethos. The supporting elements of the hand drawn holds, hearts, mountains & hands echo this further.
Orange stands as part of the primary colour pallet as this seen as the colour of the refugee flag, this has become a symbol of hope, solidarity, and compassion.
